New Clarity User Interface- Notable New Features
Clarity Human Services has officially retired its legacy interface and fully transitioned all users to the new User Interface (UI).
The new UI is a mobile-first redesign focused on:
- reducing clicks;
- improving data accuracy; and
- standardizing the location of common workflows and tools.
While many familiar functions are still available, their location and appearance may have changed. This article highlights some of the most important changes users should be aware of.
Navigation & General Interface Changes
Left-Hand Navigation
The previous top navigation tabs and launcher icon have been removed. Resource links and client-level navigation are now consolidated into the left-hand navigation sidebar.
Client Search Improvements
The client search screen now includes filterable and sortable columns, making it easier to find and organize search results.
Users can also customize which columns are displayed in many search result tables and reorder them using drag-and-drop column controls.
Client Search Screen Activity Tiles
The client dashboard now uses dynamic activity tiles on the right side of the screen instead of the previous tab-based layout.
These tiles can display information such as:
- Active program enrollments;
- Upcoming Annual Assessments; and
- Referral information and statuses
Dark Mode
Dark mode is now available as a display option for users who prefer a darker interface.
Updated Icons
Several icons throughout Clarity have changed as part of the redesign, opting for a more intuitive choice for what the icons represent. For example, the Reports icon and other navigation icons may look different from the legacy interface.
Current Living Situation (CLS) Changes
The new interface includes changes to how Current Living Situation (CLS) is handled during enrollment.
When CLS is required, users may be prompted to complete the Entry Screen and CLS assessment during enrollment before proceeding with additional household members.
CLS information can also be transferred when appropriate, helping users carry relevant CLS information forward rather than re-entering it.
These changes are intended to support HUD requirements and improve consistency in how CLS information is captured.
User Messaging Improvements
Users can now send messages directly to other Clarity users from the Care Team tab within a client's record.
This makes it easier to communicate with other staff members involved in a client's care without leaving the client record or navigating to a separate messaging area.
- Open the client's Care Team tab.
- Select the appropriate team member.
- Use the messaging option to send a direct message.
- Messages can be sent to other users who are part of the client's care team.
What to Expect During the Transition
The new interface changes the location and appearance of many familiar Clarity functions. If something looks different or you cannot immediately find a feature you previously used, check the new navigation structure before assuming the feature has been removed.
Users may also notice occasional missing data, layout issues, or other abnormalities as the new interface continues to receive updates and patches.
