Household Composition in the CES Program
Household Composition in the CES Program
Household composition in a client's profile may not always match household composition in the Coordinated Entry Program. This is an intentional system feature designed to capture changes in household information over time and differing levels of program engagement.
The purpose of this article is to outline how household data is used within the CES Program.
When matching clients to housing and shelter resources, the Coordinated Entry (CE) Team uses household data from Coordinated Entry Program enrollment, rather than the client profile.
When receiving and reviewing referrals to housing units, housing providers review household information within the Coordinated Entry Program.
The image below highlights where to access and make changes to household composition on the client profile level.

Group vs. Individual CE Program
If there are multiple members in the program household, you will see “Group” and the number of people in the group. If only one member is present in the program household, you will see “Individual”

Without correct “Program Type” information, the CES team will be unable to determine household eligibility for referrals based on household size, which may lead to delays in matching and potential denials to housing resources.
Adding Group Members
Within a program enrollment, the “Program Group Members” header displays each member of a client’s program enrollment. When the plus sign is visible, other household members can be added to the CE program.

When the plus sign is not visible next to “Program Group Members,” it means that no members can currently be added to the program.

The reason a group member cannot be added is most often because the household member needing to be added has either not been added to the “Household Members” section on the client profile, or the household member already has an active Coordinated Entry Program Enrollment. To add the client to the Head of Households program, the client's active CES enrollment must be terminated.
